The 'Maw & Paw Countdown' is a responsive web page example I built for my folks (and the kids) to track when they're coming over to Scotland.

What is Responsive Web Design?

The link above points at Ethan Marcotte's excellent article which goes into some great detail about what it actually is.

In a nutshell though, a responsive web design is a design that responds/reacts to the device the site is being viewed on.

So in the case of the 'Maw & Paw Countdown' if you view the site on a computer, you'll see the full size version and then if you scale your window down, or view it on the iPhone or other mobile phone, the layout changes and the fonts are scaled to fit.
