I'm not really one for New Year resolutions to be honest but in 2010 I've a few things I'd like to achieve.
We've decided that when our cable subscription expires on 21st January that we're not going to renew. I've become increasingly frustrated at the amount of rubbish that we sit and watch. Mind numbing gameshows, soaps, reality shows - it's such a time killer, not to mention a financial drain on around £60 per month. I'll miss the ocassional live football game as well as 24 - but other than that there's nothing that I really enjoy watching or feel I'll be missing out on.
We'll still have the TV to watch DVDs or download a movie from Xbox Live (and playing Xbox too). So the absence of TV should help me make headway on the other things I'd like to do in 2010, improve my Bible study time, improve family time engaging with one another rather than vegging out in front of the TV and finally, getting to grips with PHP, ExpressionEngine2.0 and CodeIgniter.
My church, charity and ministry web work is starting to gain more recognition which is great and I'm praying for more of the same in 2010.
Findlay Church, Findlay Family Network and Maryhill Evangelical websites will be launching in February/March time, while Duncan Street Baptist is almost done too. Have a great New Year folks.
Blessings,
Steven
